Perched along Pacific Coast Highway with sweeping ocean views, this coastal cottage serves as a serene escape for Chet Architecture’s Principal, his husband, and their two children. The family first discovered the home when their boys began learning to surf along this stretch of coastline, known for its consistent and inviting waves. What began as a weekend retreat has evolved into a vibrant, deeply personal haven. In collaboration with interior designer Oliver Furth, the design strikes a balance between playful, expressive moments and a sense of restraint, inspired by Coastal California architecture and landscaping. The result is a space that feels both joyful and contemplative, a colorful reflection of the family who inhabits it, and a calm counterpoint to the pace of city life in Los Angeles.
